RJ SURVEY FOR THE CARIBBEAN
CAST YOUR VOTE IN OUR RESTORATIVE JUSTICE SURVEY BELOW.
As the weaknesses inherent in our traditional criminal justice systems become more apparent, it is refreshing to read the report which highlights the use and outcome of restorative justice processes in the United Kingdom and internationally. The research was conducted by the Jerry Lee Center of Criminology at the University of Pennsylvania for the Smith Institute in London. It examined what constitutes good-quality restorative justice practice and provides conclusions on its effectiveness, with particular reference to re-offending. (For those who have not had an opportunity, please read our Web Journal entry on this report).
In light of the findings contained in the report, CURB would like to stimulate discussion in Trinidad and Tobago and other Caribbean jurisdictions as to the manner in which we in the region should implement restorative justice. We have chosen to use an Online Survey to obtain your perspective on this important topic which has proven effective to improve victim satisfaction as well as to reduce crime and re-offending.
Please tell others about this RJ Survey and encourage them to share their views.
